Boy from Kino and Girl from Poston start high school at Mtn View. They share 2nd hour math class. Girl's uncle (Mr. Anderson) is the math teacher. They never say a word to each other. Boy is unaware that he will one day be related to his sophomore math teacher.
March 2000:
Girl asks boy to Junior Sadies. He says YES! They have lots of fun and wear really cool matching shirts. They have only known eachother a few months, but they decide to "elope on the slopes" in a pretend wedding ceremony at the dance.
To this day, they still have the marriage certificate that states cheesy things such as:
'Do you, Ryan, as her ski stud, promise to always keep her fire burning during the cold winter months and to always giver her black diamonds?"
Do you, Stacey, as his snow bunny, promise that if your partner ever gets frostbite you will make his body heat rise and promise to always keep him free from yellow snow?"
(Yes, we still have it. And we have faithfully kept those vows) ;)
April 2001:
Boy and girl become better friends during senior year. They walk to classes together, enjoy instant messaging on the computer til early morning hours, and enjoy shooting hoops and hanging out. Boy asks girl to senior prom. She says YES! Boy looks smokin hot in his tux. They hold hands (and maybe even have their first kiss).
May 2001:
Boy and girl graduate high school together. They go to BYU summer school. They enjoy a summer full of lots of fun, a little school, (any maybe a little more kissing)
Girl breaks her leg in a ridiculous long board accident at BYU. Boy stays overnight at hospital during surgery and gets to know what girl is like on heavy pain medication. She says embarrasing things never to be forgotten (or shared on this blog).
August 2001:
Boy goes to BYU for one semester of college. Girl goes to ASU. They are sad to be apart.
February 2002:
Boy goes on church mission to Cleveland, Ohio. They take the infamous 'handshake picture' and say goodbye.
Boy writes her letters. Girl writes letters back. Later that year, Girl moves to Utah with her friends and begins dating other boys. Girl moves back to AZ to start school. She dates other boys....but she does not forget about THE Boy.
Two years later: February 14, 2004
Boy comes home from mission and calls Girl from the airport. She does not know who it is and says, "Oh, hi. Is this Shane?"
Boy is silent. That is not his name. Girl takes foot out of her mouth, and realizes who she is talking to. "Oh, hi Ryan! You're home!" Boy forgives girl. (Phew!)
July 2004:
Boy and girl are in love. They drive to Newport Beach for 4th of July. .. Boy asks Girl to marry him under the Pier at sunset. She says YES!
September 24, 2004:
6 years later...September 24, 2010
Boy wakes up and goes to work. He looks good in his nice work clothes. He kisses Girl goodbye. Girl stays home with their two beautiful daughters. She is still in her pajamas. Girl lets her two daughters watch TV and eat way too many snacks to keep them occupied while girl writes this post. Boy and Girl can't wait to go on a date tonight to eat some yummy mexican food. They are in love. Life is good.
Happy Anniversary, Boy. I love you!
